Studies Community Relations Newland - Torrey Hills Public Solutions provided project management, community relations, government relations, and special event planning services for the developer of Torrey Hills during the completion of Torrey Hills and Vista Sorrento Parkway. Throughout the project, Public Solutions communicated with community members and civic leaders to resolve issues relating to landscaping, zoning, and traffic. Public Solutions worked with and presented information to members of the Torrey Hills Community Planning Board. Public Solutions also produced a community newsletter for Torrey Hills residents. :: back to top Media Relations SchlumbergerSema Parking Pay Station Introduction Public Solutions planned and implemented an event to introduce parking pay and display stations to the citizens of San Diego. The City of San Diego recently raised parking meter rates; issues such as parking meter upgrades, rate increases and parking enforcement have been under examination. In order to introduce the parking pay station to citizens and leadership in San Diego, Public Solutions set up a Schlumberger pay and display station for demonstration in the Civic Center Plaza. The unique look of the pay station piqued the curiosity of nearby people; representatives were on hand to answer any questions about the system and hand out informational material. Interested people were able to try out the station using a credit card, to see how easy it is to use. The informational event received attention from everyday citizens and elected officials, and was covered by a local broadcast news crew. :: back to top Print & Video Production City of San Diego Engineering & Capital Projects Department and Water Department Public Solutions has produced several short videos for the City of San Diego, focusing on community relations, community education, outreach and an award-winning employee recruitment video. We contributed to concept and scripting, development of message points, and we work with City video services staff to complete filming and production of the videos. Additionally, we have completed award-printing projects including direct mail, employee recruitment brochures and event invitations for City projects. Our involvement includes concept, working with a graphic designer, coordinating design and cost approval with the client, and coordinating printing and final delivery. :: back to top Public Relations Stadium Golf Center Public Solutions worked to establish a relationship with the community and build upon an existing relationship with their City Councilmember. We translated Stadium Golf owners’ desire to help the community into action by coordinating the donation of a vehicle to the baseball team of a local school that suffered fire damage. We worked with the Cycle Center to get a special discount rate on the vehicle; the high school booster club to get a list of needs and show parent support; school officials to get approval and participation at the planned media event; and the councilmember’s staff to ensure the councilmember could attend the event to express his support for the school and Stadium Golf’s philanthropic act. We also arranged for the donation event to be featured on a local morning news show. :: back to top Special Events Vista Sorrento Parkway Grand Opening Ceremony Newland, the developer of Torrey Hills, retained Public Solutions to produce a special event marking the Grand Opening of Vista Sorrento Parkway, a major roadway in the Sorrento Mesa area. This event was coordinated along with the offices of San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy and City Councilmembers Scott Peters and Brian Maienschein.
